Mix Medokk june 2004  --- play list na dnu stranice

Influenced by the French-house wave, Mehmet Koruturk (aka Medokk) started collecting records and playing in school parties
when he was 14. In 1997, He moved to Ankara, Turkey after having lived in Moscow, Istanbul, Paris, Madrid and Lisbon. He was
soon invited by Dj Rush to warm up for him in the now-legendary Collesium where Mehmet held a residency during two years,
improving his skills. He started collaborating with international TV Channel MCM for whom Mehmet started throwing parties at
the age of 16. The events became bigger and bigger and Mehmet formed Medokk Productions (www.medokk.com) with partner in
2000. First, bringing the hottest upcoming Turkish talents to town such as Cervus (Subsky), Arkin Allen (Mercan-Dede) or Berk
Doan, the duo started their Revolution residency that quickly became the city's biggest event. The concept aiming to replace
the city's weak scene with a quality house and tech-house scene was seen as impossible by many. They were wrong and
well-known names like Fred Everything, D'julz, David Duriez, Grant Dell, H-Foundation,Peace Division's Clive Henry , Phil
Weeks,Dr.Kucho, Dave Mothersole and more started frequenting the city as well as up-and-coming stars such as Paul Louth, Amir
(Javasoul) playing alongside top Turkish talents like Cure-shot, Tangun, Tarkan, Hakan Henry, Yunus Guvenen, Mithat Can as
well as resident Mute. Mehmet moved to Montreal, Canada in fall 2001 to continue to McGill University and quickly started to
play in different gigs across the town that is famous for its 'wild' nightlife. In 2003, with partners, he started the Promo
nights in the city's worldly known Stereo bar, bringing to town a forward thinking quality concept. Names like Inland
Knights, Mazi (Audio Soul project), Tyler Stadius, Chris Duckenfield (Swag) or Fred Everything spun with a blend of local
talents.
The same year saw the award winning Proton Radio (www.protonradio.com) invite Mehmet to host a bi-weekly show, alongside
Turkish superstar Yunus Güvenen and partners in crime Fuchs and Subsky. The Show named 34 Bpm (www.34bpm.com - after
Istanbul's license plate number) quickly drew the attentions of the industry-heads by the high standarts set regarding the
forward thinking policy of innovative music. The shows have been broadcasted in many different radio channels around the globe
from Russia to Croatia, from Israel to XM radio. On another level, Mehmet as finally launched his project he has dreamt of
since childhood: his own record label: Spleen Music (www.spleenrecords.com). Distributed by Rythmic New York (through
Intergroove, Watts and Syntax), the music policy will be quality house music from deep to tech. First release is from
Argentinian 'Rockstar' Jay West (Cove, Stupendous, Blockhead, Music is Freedom) with Remixes from Morgan Page (Bedrock, Saw,
Nordic Trax) and Patrick Turner (Movim,Low Pressings, The End) and promos will be out for the WMC. Future releases and
remixes from heavyweights such as John Dahlback (with Julia Amadeo's vocals), Yann Fontaine, Joshua Collins (with Jason Dunn
and Stryke), Kaskade, Fex, Dj Mouse and Flow. With partner Kenan Borekci, he is also launching another label, Angora Records
( www.angora.net , hailing from Ankara's former name) that will be more oriented on big room sounds with a first stromer
release from Noel Sanger (Nettwerk) with remixes from the legendary Yunus Güvenen (Bedrock, Twilo/Made, Red Flag Collective,
Silver Planet). Promos out for the WMC. Future releases and remixes from Argentina's Lega (Kung Fu Dubs, Red Flag Collective,
Intrincis Design, CP) and G-Pal (El Greco,Swift, Bedrock, Yoshitoshi).

2005 looks like a promising year for Mehmet who is moving to New York to work for a major label as executive producer, and
he is allready fully booked for the first four months with gigs in Europe (Serbia, Croatia), a West Coast tour of the USA
(Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco), Miami (for the WMC Music Conference), a South American tour and in his hometown,
Istanbul of course. He has been invited to do a guest mix for Dave Mothersole's Kiss Fm show, recognized as the top reference
for tech-house.
Known for his programming, Mehmet's style is a blend of deep, dubby, techy influenced house music with the funky and
percussive edge.

Mehmet also reviews for Urban Bug Magazine (www.urbanbug.com) , Turkey's most read dance-music and scene related journal
