Liuns, please introduce your self in a few words to our audience...

- yo sergej: i´m dj since 1987, munich/germany, i started producing for COMPOSE/COMPOST beginning of the 90´s. I started out with deep house, paradise garage and gained some success with that - e.g. single of the month in UK´s "musik" magazine. 1999 i founded exun and since then i focus on underground house music. I also have my own recordshop "exun recordshop" since 3 years now.

It must be quite hard to push tech-house in Munchen, because of techno, minimal and electro Clash. How was in the beginning and how is now? For example we had luck to have in 98 Wiggle party for 2000 people, and then everything changed, and tech house get really big in Zagreb. Did you done something similar, or you started small and slowly grow? Any other people wich deserves to be mentioned because of giving you support and help?

- munich was always a spezial place - we have been playin` good underground housemusic since 1989! Of course techno/trance was big, but the house scene never cared. 2000, when i released "who stole the soul", there was a great impact by labels like siesta, de:tour, tango etc. The so called west coast tribal sound. A lot of djs went for that sound, and the audience accepted it right away. Now we have 5 tech house clubs in munich. I was always playing music i dig, so it developed gradually.....and as i know all the promoters for so long, i never had a problem finding a club to play good underground sound.

Now we could see a merge kind of a "new wave" tech house coming from Germany. At least in a way how records are put together in a Dj sets and building the vibe in the club. Maybe best  examples are guys from Pokerflat, (Martin Landsky in particular) and some others Word and Sound exclusive labels. Please comment this as a one of pioneers of tech house in Germany....

- well, pokerflat is what we call in munich "berlin house". It´s the minimal version of tech house, i would say. The impact by those german labels is big, and i think it was time the people got known to something different from germany than techno. All the labels at WordAndSound are a big family with quality music and a great distribution by WAS.

What's your experience with the guy from Croydon (SWAG)?

- i know some personally, some by e mail. Swag is very important to exun, as paul always supports our stuff 100% Mostly it´s nr1 at the shop´s chart. Nathan Coles, Eddie Richards, Dave Mothersole and Paul Swag are good friends to us.

Could you compare your creative patterns and theirs? (Access to new artists, ideas,Concepts, story behind

the sound...)

- i just think we all do what we believe in.I judge by my feeling for music and the underground culture i´m surrounded by......i guess they do the same. Off course, on the other hand you have to be professional about running a business!

You founded a label Exun, is it because you wanted to be free to push the sounds which you find creative and through it represent your vision of music, or you simply this way was easier to release your own tracks?

- for me, it was just about time to start something new! I felt somthing else had to happen - i was tiered of that old, lame disco, vocal, deep house thing.I wasn´t sure about the new sound, but i was sure, it would evolve.

Are you having a steady record sales, or ups and downs? Also do you feel that you getting the new and younger listeners, and could you feel some difference in their attitude?

- fortunately sales inrease gradually for exun.Of course it´s much harder than back in the nineties, but people come and go as usually. Quality music will always be around. When i started i was hot for independent music, i feel it´s still the same. If you dig a certain type of style, you will go for it.

You where doing much remixes, you made allot of records, and you played in various clubs.Could you name a few you liked playing in, with who you enjoyed the most remixing and producing? What do you try to achieve while mixing, producing or remixing?

- i had some crazy nights and venues, just too many:I really love kindergarten (manchaster), flokati (munich), red light (paris), la dune (montpellier), registratur (munich) ..... just to name a few!I suppose it´s more a matter of personality. If i like somebody as a person, i get along with him as a dj or producer.

How your collaboration with Ilija Rudman and Red music did begin? Any ideas of very strong existence of electronic music scene in Zagreb and Croatia before meeting Ilija?

- well, he sent me some music, and i liked it - that´s it. I was told several times before, that the scene in kroatia is very cool. And i´m looking very much forward to it.

As Frankie from Frankie Records, is coming to play in Tockica in December, could you give us a short introduction to him, and how was to work with him? His style is very difficult to describe, maybe you have a word for that?

- sorry, i don´t know him very well, but he seems to be very keen on what he´s doing :)
